Sparks have been inspired by the spark erosion technology of the engineering world. Computer controlled CNC machine centres have carved this unique Grix design. The full frame encapsulates our cross linked Polycarbonate lenses and includes our twin spring hinges to limit temple rotation and provide maximum frame stability.
These custom aluminium frames are combined with optically corrected 2.0mm cross linked Polycarbonate . This material is the same material chosen to construct the visors for NASA space helmets and provides incredible strength, clarity and optical precision as well as maximum impact resistance.
Cross Linked Polycarbonate lenses also provide 100% UV protection from harmful UV rays including UVA and UVB light up to 400 nanometers and easily exceeds all international sunglass standards. We have specified 82% light filtration (18% transmission) tinted lenses to ensure maximum glare reduction on even the brightest days.
All Grix lenses have been designed by Steve Maskell (Dip. O. D. and senior lecturer in Optometry at the Royal Institute of technology in Melbourne, Australia) and feature three separate lens coatings:
• Scratch resistant coating
• AR or anti-reflection coating that stops light from bouncing of the inside of the lenses into your eyes
• Semi mirror coating to further reduce glare
Frames are available in polished, brushed, anodised red, blue, and black.
